choice of materials As usual, Alphacool also uses pure copper for the NexXxoS 1080 Nova Radiator. The antechambers, the water channels and the cooling fins are made of copper and are unique worldwide. As a result, Alphacool radiators have been among the most popular and best on the market for many years, which is the perfect basis for any water cooling.
 
Full cooling performance
In order to maximize the performance of a radiator, Alphacool digs deep into its bag of tricks. It starts with copper. With a thermal conductivity of 400 W / (mK) for copper compared to 236 W / (mK) for aluminum, the winner is certain. In addition, there is the special fin density. Alphacool is one of the oldest water cooling companies and has carried out countless laboratory tests. The result, especially for such large radiators, is a fin spacing of 12 FPI. As a result, the air flow is hindered relatively slightly, since the air can slide through even with very little pressure. This makes the radiator ideal for fans with low speed. The cooling performance does not suffer from this, on the contrary. All cooling fins have small flaps to make optimal use of the air flow. These are tiny wings which direct the airflow in the desired direction. In the case of the radiators, these are barely 1 mm high, but still ensure controlled air turbulence in order to increase the cooling performance and minimize the flow noise.
 
Which fans?
The 1080 Nova Radiator offers space for nine 120 mm fans on the mounting frame. If you want to operate the radiator passively, you can remove the mounting plate so as not to obstruct the natural air flow. Of course, the mounting plates for both fan types can also be exchanged. So you have all the relevant freedom when installing the fan.  
 
Connection
options The Alphacool NexXxoS Nova radiator offers two G1 / 4 “threads for IN and OUT. Another G1 / 4 “thread on the back of the radiator serves as a fillport. Alternatively, a temperature sensor or a drain cock can be attached here.
